With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Amanda Ferguson, a devoted mother, beloved friend, and faithful servant of the Lord, who left this world far too soon at the age of 44.
Amanda was a proud resident of Alcoa, Tennessee, where she was a vibrant part of the community — not just as a citizen, but as a constant supporter of her children, their sports teams, and those around her. Her faith guided her every step, and her love for her two children, Lane and Caroline, was the light of her life.
A single mother who worked tirelessly, Amanda dedicated herself to her kids’ happiness and success. Her oldest, Lane, is a sophomore at Alcoa High School and a member of the football team. Her daughter, Caroline, a freshman, shines on the soccer field. Amanda poured her heart into supporting them, always making sure they had what they needed — even when it meant putting her own needs aside.
Amanda worked at Ares Medical, where she was known for her compassion and professionalism. She was highly educated and passionate about her field, having studied Advanced Emergency Medical Technician training at Roane State Community College, as well as Radiography and MRI at both Roane State and South College in Knoxville.
She was a graduate of Powell High School and originally from Knoxville, Tennessee, but her heart belonged to the close-knit community of Alcoa, where she raised her children with unwavering strength, joy, and faith.
Those who knew Amanda describe her as loving, generous, and full of life. She gave endlessly — not just to her family, but to anyone who needed help or a kind word. Her faith was strong, her laughter contagious, and her spirit unbreakable.
To support Amanda’s children through this unimaginable loss, Casey Silcox has organized a GoFundMe on behalf of their grandfather, Randy Ferguson. The fundraiser will help cover funeral expenses and provide financial support for Lane and Caroline’s daily needs and future education. As shared by family friend Angie Valpatic, this is the only GoFundMe link made with the family’s permission, and any contributions — large or small — are deeply appreciated.
If you cannot give, the family asks for your continued prayers as they navigate this heartbreak and begin the long journey toward healing.
Amanda’s passing leaves a space that can never be filled, but her legacy lives on in her children, her community, and all who were blessed to know her.
