It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Henry Steenstra, a devoted mechanical engineering professional and a beloved member of the West Boylston, Massachusetts community. Henry passed away in early April 2025, leaving behind a legacy of hard work, ingenuity, and kindness that will never be forgotten.
Born with a curious mind and a strong work ethic, Henry pursued his passion for mechanics and design at Clarkson University, where he studied Mechanical Engineering and Business Management from 2006 to 2010. While there, he was actively involved in campus life through clubs such as the Entrepreneur Club, Sports Car Club, and both the Men’s Club Ice Hockey and Lacrosse teams—reflecting his vibrant energy and love for teamwork.
Henry’s professional journey was marked by precision, dedication, and innovation. As a Design Engineer at Kahr Arms / Auto-Ordnance from 2013 to 2015, he specialized in 3D modeling, CNC programming, and prototype development, taking great pride in his ability to optimize production processes and reduce machining costs. His hands-on expertise ranged from technical drawing and fixture design to CNC troubleshooting and manual machining—earning him respect among peers for his deep technical skillset and reliability.
Earlier in his career, Henry served as a Warehouse Supervisor at Vega Distributors in Worcester, Massachusetts. There, he maintained a well-organized warehouse and ensured timely deliveries—bringing the same level of commitment and diligence that he carried throughout his life.
Outside of work, Henry was known for his generosity, humor, and the unique way he made others feel truly seen. Whether in the workshop, on the sports field, or among friends and family, he touched countless lives with his warm spirit and kind heart.
Henry’s brother, Steven Steenstra, shared,
“My family would like to thank everyone for the unbelievable support we have received. We are proud to call all of you family. Henry touched all of our lives in such a special way that could never be forgotten.”
A celebration of Henry’s life will be held on Saturday, April 12. Calling hours will take place from 1:00 to 4:00 PM at the Old Stone Church in West Boylston, followed by a celebration of life gathering at a nearby restaurant (venue to be announced soon).
Henry will be remembered not just for his career accomplishments, but for the love and laughter he brought to those lucky enough to know him. He leaves behind family, friends, and colleagues who will carry his memory with them always.
Rest in peace, Henry. Your hands built more than machines—they built connections, joy, and lasting memories.
